Applicationsare invited from male/female Indian citizens for appointment to various postsof Para Medical staff Group ‘B’ & ‘C’ (combatised) in Border SecurityForce, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India in the pay scale asmentioned against each post plus DA & other allowances as admissible fromtime to time. The posts are temporary but likely to become permanent. Selectedcandidates are liable to be governed by BSF Act and Rules.
Applications areinvited from Indian citizens for appointment for the following para-medicalposts in BSF :
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (Pharmacist-Qualified) : 31 posts (SC-13, ST-12, OBC-6) , Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 grade pay Rs. 2800/-.
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (Lab Technician) : 01 post (OBC-1) , Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 grade pay Rs. 2800/-.
- Constable (Masalchi) : 02 posts (OBC-2) , Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 grade pay Rs. 2000/-
- Constable (Table Boy) : 01 post (OBC-2) , Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 grade pay Rs. 2000/-
- Constable (Peon) : 02 posts (OBC-2) , Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 grade pay Rs. 2000/-
Qualification for Pharmacist:
i) 10+2 or equivalent ii) Diploma in Pharmacy from any recognized Institutionof the Central or a State Govt. for which the period of Training in two yearsfollowed by an internship of which the practical training shall not be lessthan five hundred hours spread over a period of not less than three months.Provided that not less than two hundred and fifty hours are devoted to actualdispensing of prescriptions. iii) Possessing the qualifications under Section31 & 32 of the Pharmacy Act, 1948 and registered under Section 33 of the saidAct.
How to Apply : Application in the prescribed format shouldbe sent to the respective IG BSF in different States of India as per thedetails given in the advertisement on or before 30 days from the date ofpublication in Employment News (published on 26/05/2012 in the EmploymentNews and hence the last date is 25/06/2012.
a) Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBCcandidates for all posts.
b) Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for candidates already inGovernment service holding posts which are in the same line or in allied cadrein accordance with the instructions issued by the Central Government from timeto time.
c) Relaxation in upper age limit of 05 years shall also be admissible to thosecandidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmirduring the period from 01 Jan 1980 to 31 Dec’1989. Such candidates belonging toState of Jammu and Kashmir claiming age relaxation should produce a certificateobtained from the District Magistrate within whose jurisdiction they hadordinarily resided or from authorized designated in this behalf by the Govt. ofJ&K.
d) The relaxation in upper age limit of 05 years shall also be admissible tothe children and dependent family members of those who were killed in thecommunal riots of the year 1984 and Gujrat of the year 2002. For getting thisbenefit, children and dependent family members of those killed in the riotsshould produce a certificate obtained from the District Magistrate within whosejurisdiction they had ordinarily resided or from authorized designated in thisbehalf by the concerned State Govt.
OTE:-Candidates should note that the Date of Birth as recorded in theMatriculation/Secondary ExaminationCertificate or an equivalent certificate only available on the closing date ofsubmission of applicationwill be accepted for determining the age eligibility and no subsequent requestfor its change will be considered or granted.
(i) For the post of ASI (Pharmacist) & ASI (Lab Technician)

(a) Visual standardshould be 6/6 to right eye and 6/12 left eye or 6/9 both eye without opticaldevice.
(b) The candidates must not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they shouldpossess high colour vision. The candidates will be tested for colour vision byIshahara’s test as well Edrich-Green Lantern Test. They must be in good mentaland bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere withthe efficient performance of the duties.
The event-wise selection procedure for all the advertised posts will be asfollows:-

Note(for female candidates only):-
“Pregnancy at the time ofPhysical Efficiency Test (PET) will be a disqualification and pregnant femalecandidate will be rejected. However if any such candidate who as a result oftests at the time of medical examination, is found to be pregnant of twelveweeks standing or over shall be declared temporarily unfit and her appointmentwill be held in abeyance until the confinement is over.”

NoteFor the post of ASI (Pharmacist-Qualified) & ASI(Lab Technician) There will be one composite paper each for the above mentionedposts for two hours duration consisting of above mentioned parts havingquestions of “OBJECTIVE TYPE WITH MULTIPLE CHOICE” carrying one mark each.
(a) The application form(Annexure ‘A’) must be filled by the candidate in his/her own handwriting /typewritten. Correction, if any, should be legible and attested by thecandidate.
(b) Applications, which are not on prescribed format or not accompanied by therequired enclosures or incomplete or defective shall be summarily rejected. Norepresentation or correspondence regarding such rejection shall be entertainedunder any circumstances.
(c) Applications received after closing date and any enquiry in this regardwill not be entertained by the Selection Board.
(d) The envelope containing the application must be superscripted in bold lettersas “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ASSTT. SUB INSPECTOR (PHARMACIST) / ASSTT SUBINSPECTOR (LAB TECHNICIAN)/ CONSTABLE(MASALCHI)/CONSTABLE (TABLE BOY)/CONSTABLE (PEON)” as the case may be.
(e) Candidate serving in Government/Semi Government/Public Sector undertakingsshould apply through proper channel. No objection certificate from theiremployer will be required to be submitted at the time of personal interview.
(f) Candidates are not required to submit any original certificates in supportto their claims. They should ensure they fulfill all the eligibility conditionsfor admission to the tests and interview. If on verification at a later stage it is found that they donot fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature will becancelled by the Selection Board.
(g) Candidates are informed that written examinationis only a preliminary test forscreening and short listing. No result of any of the tests will be supplied tothe candidates and no correspondence will be entertained by the Board in thisregard.
(h) All eligible candidates who apply in response to this advertisement beforethe closing date will be assigned Registration/RollNumbers. They will be communicated through AdmitCards for appearing in the selection process.
(j) The recruitment boardshall not be liable for any claim arising out of any injury etc. sufferedduring the tests. The decision of the recruitment board shall be final in allmatters connected with this recruitment
(k) The candidates called for interview and detailed medical examination willnot be paid any TA/DA. However, under the provisions contained in GOI’s OrderNo. 4 below SR 132 relating to the grant of traveling allowance to SC/STcandidates called for interview (Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ advertised posts) recruitmentauthority can reimburse second class actual railway fare or Bus fare chargeableby the shortest route from Railway Station/Bus stand nearest to their normalplace of residence or from which they actually performed the journey, whichevernearer to the place of interview and back to the same station, provided thatthe fare of the first 30 Kms in both cases (i.e. rail or road) is borne by thecandidates and the re-imbursement restricted to the fare in respect of the balance of distance exceeding 30Kms both ways. Extra charges if any incurred for reservation seat/sleeper berthin the train, will not be reimbursed to the candidates.
(l) The decision of the selection board with regard to the matters connectedwith this recruitment will be final in all respects.
(m) Success in the interview confers no right to appointment unless thedepartment is satisfied after medical examination and such enquiry as may beconsidered necessary that the candidate is suitable in all respects forappointment to the service/post.
(n) The appointment will be subject to the conditions that the candidates aremedically as well as physically fit. The selected candidates will have toundergo Basic Training at any of the Training Institutions of BSF. The servicesof those candidates who fail to complete the training successfully are liableto be terminated.
(o) Before applying, candidates in their own interest are advised to go throughthe detailed instructions contained in this notice carefully. This notice andspecimen of the application is also available on the BSF Web Site www.bsf.nic.in.
(p) An employee serving in the same rank and pay grade will not be entitled to apply for said post.
(q) On behalf of Govt. of India, selection committee reserves its right toreject or accept the candidature of any applicant at any stage
(r) Selected candidates will be liable to serve anywhere in Union of India orabroad.
(s) Candidates seeking reservation benefits for SC/ST/OBC must ensure that theyare entitled to such reservation as per eligibility prescribed in the Notice.They should also be in possession of the certificates in the format prescribedby Government of India in support of their claim at the time of application.
(t) Candidate will be governed by BSF Act and Rules and as amended from time totime.
(u) The NEW RESTRUCTURED DEFINED CONTRIBUTION PENSION SYSTEM applicable for thenew entrants to the Central govt. service w.e.f. Jan 2004 will also beapplicable.
(v) Wherever applicable, the candidates must indicate/write the answer eitherin Hindi or in English or vice versa. If answers are indicated/written partlyin Hindi and partly in English and vice versa, the answer script will not beevaluated and the candidate will be awarded zero marks.
